Every August, the Diocese of Peterborough holds a special collection to support three vital ministries: Vocations, Youth Ministry, and Campus Ministry. These ministries are essential in nurturing the spiritual growth and development of our community. Your contribution helps us continue our mission to cultivate future leaders of our faith, empower our youth, and provide spiritual guidance to university and college students.

Vocations: Nurturing Future Priests

Supporting vocations ensures that we have dedicated and well-prepared priests to lead our parishes and serve our communities. Your donation helps fund the education and formation of seminarians, providing them with the resources they need to grow in their calling.

Youth Ministry: Empowering Our Youth

Youth ministry programs are crucial in guiding young people through their faith journey. These programs provide a safe and nurturing environment where youth can explore their faith, build strong community bonds, and develop into active members of the Church. Your support helps us offer impactful youth programs that inspire and empower the next generation.

Part of working in the Lord’s vineyard means preparing the future generations of our Church, both laity and clergy. That is the main mission of the offices of Youth, Vocations, and Campus Ministry. Your generous donation to these ministries helps provide for the younger generations to become strong, faith-filled leaders of the Church. Your gifts are already bearing fruit: this September, we will have three men in the seminary studying to become priests; we have more and more parishes starting youth and young adult ministries; the walking pilgrimage from Powassan to Britt grows every year; more youth are expressing interest in World Youth Day; and campus ministry is leading students to have an encounter with Jesus Christ, which we saw last Easter Vigil with several students being baptized.

Campus Ministry: Supporting University Students

Campus ministry provides essential spiritual support to university and college students. These programs offer a place for students to deepen their faith, find community, and receive guidance during a pivotal time in their lives. Your generosity ensures that we can continue to offer meaningful support and resources to students navigating their academic and spiritual journeys.

We are a community of faith centered on Jesus Christ, rooted in prayer and intent on living out our identity as Catholic disciples in the secular world. I am excited to begin my ministry as Chaplain to this wonderful community of university and college students in the Diocese of Peterborough. Please pray for our students and thank you for your generous support of this ministry.
