Saint Jean-Marie Vianney (1786–1859), widely known as the Curé d’Ars, was a French Catholic priest revered for his radical spiritual transformation of the small, religiously indifferent village of Ars, France. He was canonized by Pope Pius XI in 1925 and declared the universal patron saint of parish priests.

PRAYER

O Holy Priest of Ars, Saint Jean-Marie Vianney, you dedicated your life to the service of God and His people through boundless humility, tireless prayer, and deep compassion in the confessional.

In our modern world, we look to your example of steadfast faith and radical love. Intercede for us before the throne of God, obtaining for us a spirit of true repentance, a hunger for the Eucharist, and the grace to love others as Christ loves us. Guard our priests, strengthen our parishes, and guide our hearts closer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Amen.
